Pollution of the environment – current state, prognosis and challenges until 2030 (in the light of Laudato si’ 43-61)

Summary/Abstract: The review article comprehensively presents the state of the environment for three off its components: water, air and soil, in relation to existinglegislation, plans for environmental changes inEurope until 2030, but also scientific challengesin the European Research Area. It relates the informationon the state of the environment and theplan for global society, scientists and managers to Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato si’, dedicatedto “Care for the Common Home”. Each of the environmental elements was discussed in the three contexts: legal acts regulating and defining the level of pollution, pollution in Europe and Poland, and a reference to Pope Francis’ encyclical as well as challenges for the future.
