Summary/Abstract: Dominican Mikuláš Jozef Lexmann worked in Košice from 1924 to 1936 and again from 1944 until 1950. During these years, Father Mikuláš carried out a number of important religious, cultural and social works in Košice. The aim of this contribution is to present the range of Mikuláš Lexmann's activities in associations and activities that had a social and charitable character with the intention of improving the lives of the residents of Košice. Páter was a member of several associations in which he also held leading positions. He was a member of the Orol Association and was also a member of the local branch of Matica Slovenská. He became the organizer of the Esperantist course, the representative of the Autoklub for Eastern Slovakia, and the director of the Rosary Brotherhood in Košice. He took part in an aviation course organized by the Aeroclub of the Masaryk Aviation League. He had a good relationship with the youth, for whom he led the boys' club Meno Božie and the girls' club Živý Ruženec, and he even founded Cyril-Methodian Scouting under the leadership of the Order of Preachers. He sympathized with the poor people of Košice living on the fringes of society. His charitable activities included: economic support for poor students, construction of a modern indoor market, as well leading a driving course for unemployed and poor workers.
