The Armament of the the 2nd Hungarian Army on the Eastern Front 1942-1943

Summary/Abstract: When the Hungarian armed forces entered the war in June 1941, they were not ready, either in terms of organisation or equipment, for a war that would require the full strength of the country, especially outside its borders. The positive effects of the Győr Programme were already being felt, but the military leadership would have had to make up for a serious technical shortfalls. Nor was there time to wait for the results of slowed-down armament programmes.
