Summary/Abstract: The loyalty of a citizen to an institution he works in implies that he performs his work often with very much attention and concentration, protected in a way by some adequate ergonomic solutions, from harmfull consequences which are usually being caused by his fixed position at a personal computer. The Information Society, respectively, the Knowledge Society imposes scientific and technological orientation to many users of the electronic libraries. In a changing world, these institutions may contribute to the improvement of electronic culture. Electronic city offers its’ and other inhabitants as well the possibility to participate actively in its’ life and contribute therefore to solving its’ problems by qualitative proposals which follow the achievements of an urban area. Nowadays, librarians should focus more often to that form of relationship, respectively, to the ability of users who would address their problems and their cocitizens’ difficulties towards competent city bodies in order to find out optimum solutions. Contemporary user as well as a librarian have an unavoidable place in the electronic city particularly if they perform their everyday working obligations in the world of new technologies.
