Summary/Abstract: The study examines the economic situation in the area of mining over the years 1939–1945 using the example of magnesite and talc deposits and companies at the time of the First Slovak Republic, which was primarily located in the regions of Gemer and Malohont. The focus was primarily on the economic conditions and ownership relations in the companies as well as on the mapping out of the mining locations of magnesite and talc, which were located within the territory of the country at the time of the period under study. The paper is a synthesis of the available specialised studies and archive sources, which led to a deeper examination of the selected question.
