Summary/Abstract: The dominant public and scientific approach to the phenomenon of mobbing, which acquires alarming dimensions everywhere in the world, is almost exclusively individualistic: motives and symptoms are considered instead of systemic causes. The results of numerous research works show, however, that this problem is immanent to current socioeconomic circumstances marked by the atomization of social body into isolated individuals focused on themselves and their uncertain survival at the labour market. Most visible consequences are the cult of the individual, personal ambitions and compelling permanent development of one`s career. They camouflage the ever greater helplessness of individuals and destroy the social links and solidarity as the only power able to protect those same individuals from abuse and enable them to realize and defend their legitimate rights and intereses. This may indicate why individual approaches to solving the mobbing problems are immanent to the problem itself and not to its solution.
