Summary/Abstract: This article is based on the author’s own book Mr. Fahrenheit, dżentelmen z Gdańska (Mr. Fahrenheit, a Gentleman from Gdańsk), published in 2005, and on extensive source material he collected over the years. The study describes the life of the scientist from Gdańsk, with a focus on the stages when he acquired his education and experience, and comments on his lectures and publications, which make us respect him as a propagator of science. The article includes a chronological list of his most important achievements.
