Dealing with the present. The novel „So ist die Welt geworden“ by Marlene Streeruwitz

Summary/Abstract: The article introduces Austrian writer Marlene Strееruwitz as a socially and politically engaged artist and examines how her latest work relates to the immediate present. It explores the strategies of coping with the present represented in the novel, but also the role of writing in the writer's biography at a specific historical moment (the first locкdown during the 2020 covid-19 pandemic). The analysis is based also on media appearances and poetological works of the author.
