Summary/Abstract: The relations with Russia hold an important place in Poland’s foreign policy, reflecting both countries’ geographical proximity, shared history, and also Russia’s enormous raw-material and military potential. Even after Poland’s post-1989 strategic choice towards reorientation of alliances and full integration with the Western structures, successive governments sought to have the best possible relations with the Eastern partner, also in the economic dimension.
