Coincidence of election dates – analysis of dilemmas and threats

Summary/Abstract: The study covers the analysis of threats, tensions and other phenomena that may arise as a result of the coincidence of election dates. It is focused on a situation in which elections to the Polish parliament and elections of local authorities were to take place at a similar or even the same time. The discussed topics included above all issues of ordering elections, “election calendar”, organizational activities, voter turnout, voters’ sympathy, issues of double candidature, which are rarely analysed in detail, issues involving the decisions on the form of campaign committees, and spending limits. Moreover, attention was drawn to doubts about the election silence.
