Children as victims of domestic violence

Summary/Abstract: A large part of the population where it is difficult to identify and recognize violence are children. Although the national legislation defines as a victim of violence and a child who has witnessed such an act, it is still difficult for professionals to implement adequate measures towards this group. Difficulties in identifying child abuse can come both from age-specific characteristics, related to the inability of children to formulate and report the act themselves, and from the exercise of control and prohibition by parents or guardians for this to happen. Last but not least is the problem related to the lack of long-term services for psychological counseling, support and monitoring the development of child victims of violence.
