Summary/Abstract: The aim of the study is to show how the European Union’s vision for digital technology has evolved over the past ten years. In this regard, the paper focuses on three documents: Digital Futures – A Journey into 2050 Visions and Policy Challenges, published in 2014; 2030 Digital Compass: The European Way for the Digital Decade, published in 2021; the declaration announced in March 2022, which calls for strengthening the EU’s Cyber Resilience. The purpose of the investigation is to show how the coronavirus epidemic and the Russian–Ukrainian war have changed the EU’s perception of digital technology, how medium- and long-term forecasts have been transformed, and how the issue of sustainability has been reflected in the texts.
