Summary/Abstract: This study aims to analyse the changes that have occurred regarding the family, starting from the premise that in the urban environment the changes make their presence felt more strongly, while in the rural environment the mentality stagnates and changes very hard, therefore, the changes produced in the family sphere are produced at a slower pace. We live in a world that is continuously developing and to which we must constantly adapt. All components of society have undergone developments and changes both in structure and mentality. This phenomenon is due to the fact that in the rural environment the community is more cohesive, individuals interrelate and know each other, and in the urban environment individuals have other perspectives, having opportunities to know more extensive sides of society. Combining the results of 210 questionnaires applied in the two residential environments (rural and urban), the study analyzes the family issue from a contemporary perspective, it will indicate the roles distributed in the modern family with its related implications such as the decrease in the birth rate, perspectives on divorce and the implications the living environment on the mentalities of individuals.
