Summary/Abstract: In a denotative sense "hooligan" is one who does not follow the rules imposed by society and rebels against them. In literature, the symbolism of the term portrays an atypical person who does not fit into the patterns of society and who is willing to fight against all kinds of prejudices, even if this means uprooting.
