AGRARIAN RELATIONS ON THE ISLAND OF MLJET IN THE 19TH CENTURY

Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses land property relations on the island of Mljet in the 19th century based on information from different sources, especially cadastre, land registry documentation and inheritance documents. In order to elucidate them, this paper gives an overview of land property relations in other parts of Dalmatia at the time, focusing on the island from the 14th century onwards. Special attention is paid to the difference in land property relations between the eastern and the western part of Mljet in the 19th century.
