Summary/Abstract: Following up Milan Fico's study entitled Premature Termination of Foster Care in the Slovak Republic, the research scrutinises the circumstances of the premature termination of foster care in the Czech Republic. Given the unavailability of research data and detailed statistics, this paper, unlike the Slovak study, is based mainly on the opinions presented on this subject in expert debate. On the one hand there are the reasons cited for changing the foster care legislation in recent years and on the other there are the warnings issued by experts or foster parents themselves about certain possible undesirable impacts of the effected changes.
