On the role and place of military counter intelligence in the systems for the defence of national security in the countries of Post-Soviet space

Summary/Abstract: Based on a large number of apparent sources, an overview has been made of the role and positioning of military counterintelligence services in Russia and other post-Soviet countries in their respective state security protection systems. There is a tendency to change the structure of the military counterintelligence bodies in them, depending on the changed security environment and new structures of the armed forces.
