Summary/Abstract: The Holy Qur’an (Koran) and the Sunna define the ways of performing the Hajj (Hadj) – one of the most important duties to Allah and fifth pillar of Islam. The farewell pilgrimage of Muhammad, the Prophet to Kaaba and Mecca has its very place in Islamic traditions and is an example to every Muslim. Today, the government of Saudi Arabia is supervising the rite’s proceedings, while the Organization of Islamic Cooperation strives to prevent conflicts among Muslims from different countries in the name of the security of all pilgrims from around the globe.
