Availability of social welfare services in the administrative districts of municipalities with extended powers in the South Bohemia Region

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to describe the availability of social welfare services in the administrative districts of municipalities with socalled extended powers in the South Bohemia region. These regions were created in 2003 and the provision of social services makes up one of their key administrative responsibilities. However, to date, no coherent comparison and evaluation has been conducted of the availability of social services in these areas. In the context of the preparation of a long-term strategy for the development of social services in the city of Písek, a municipality with extended powers, to 2030 an evaluation was made of the availability of these services both in the South Bohemia region and in various administrative districts of municipalities with extended powers. This comparison allowed the identification of opportunities for the development of various types of social services in the Písek district.
