Value Qualification of the Youth/Old Age Opposition in the Sphere of Male-Female Relations (with Examples from Polish and Bulgarian Phraseology

Summary/Abstract: The categories of youth/old age form a key existential opposition, „engraved” in the continuum of communication between man and woman. The fairer sex is directly and fatally affected by the contrasting energies within this opposition, nurtured and sustained by the male sex. The aim of this research is to find a way to at least partially „dispose” it with the help of adequate operations with the stereotype and its value status. The phraseological-paremic sector of the language (in this case Bulgarian and Polish) was used as a source of empirical material, considered to be particularly appropriate for this type of research.
