Summary/Abstract: Le chercheur d'or (1985) and Voyages à Rodrigues (1986) by J. M. G. Le Clézio provide a journey to the Mauritius and Rodrigues islands within the writer's autobiographical narratives. Our aim, in this paper, is to show an analysis of Le Clézio's travels through these two texts. We analyse the space by looking at the movements that occur on the islands, from the interior to the coast, and those that occur in the sea, an essential element of these narratives. Memory and post-memory have an essential role in tracing these journeys.
