Keywords: Jacques Lacarrière; Greece; archipelago; itineraries; landscapes;
Summary/Abstract: Based on his various stays in Greece (from 1947 to 1966), Jacques Lacarrière wrote a book (published in 1975) that focuses on the coasts, those that one approaches, that one follows and that one leaves temporarily to return. In this composite work, the author recalls and comments on his memories. The routes he took and the encounters he made, constantly linked to the historical and literary culture of the traveller, feed this essay which is both the story of an apprenticeship and a declaration of love addressed to a country and a people.
