Summary/Abstract: Ingold begins with Rebecca Solnit’s findings on treating reading and writing as forms oftravel. Next, he compares them with the medieval monks’ practices of contemplatingthe Bible and with the Yolngu people’s way of practicing art. The conclusions allow Ingoldto outline the background for his analysis of Wassily Kandinsky’s work. Thanks to this, hecan revise the findings on the properties of imagination.
