Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyze the Military Doctrine of Azerbaijan, approved by the Azerbaijani Parliament on June8, 2010. The Doctrine stimulated interest in the region and paved the way of new debates with its content. In this regard, the Doctrine was examined within the context of regional developments in the Caucasus. The thought of emancipation of Azerbaijani territories under occupation by use of military force -is the right of Azerbaijan within the framework of international law- has gained basis in the country due to non-compromising stance of Armenia on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. Thus, this article focuses on the strategic importance of the Military Doctrine, as one of the main pillars of the National Security Concept.
