Summary/Abstract: The communication of state, government representatives, members of parliament or represen-tatives of the state administration at various levels has moved from standard communication models to the environment of social networks. We are thus watching the destruction of the traditional media space when the public administration does not communicate with the public through official media channels - including not using public service media - but through social networks. Statements on social networks are subsequently legitimized in the media space, which legitimizes the carrier itself (social network) as a serious information base. Public administration has advanced in communication with the public to such an extent that official positions, information from institutions and statements about the situation are con-veyed by platforms that have been clearly and repeatedly labelled in the international context as manipu-lative, biased, built on the principle of profit accumulation and algorithms set to share popular content. We can observe the significant rise of social networks in public political discourse in recent years, especially with the increase in populist and extremist communication.
