Trust and reciprocity as regenerative resources of social interactions

Summary/Abstract: Our study proposes an analysis of trust and reciprocity, seen as relevant resources of generous social interactions, both at the societal and interpersonal level, by exploring the most pertinent theories focused on that topic in Social Psychology and Sociology. At the same time, our analysis examines the concrete manner for testing the social networks of trust and reciprocity in social interactions by using experimental games imagined by behavioral economics. Meanwhile, in this article, we present some outcomes from a concrete study organized on a Romanian sample (N = 244) that attests to the chronic deficit of trust articulated in dyadic organizational interactions. Finally, we are also debating the social implications of this state of fact.
