Summary/Abstract: The article presents the contemporary dramaturgy in Moldova, as well as the possibilities of stage exploitation. The author starts from the premise that the serious social-political realities of Moldova are suggested in every show at "Satricus I. L. Caragiale" National Theater in Chisinau. After 1990, censorship in the theatre disappeared and it would have been expected that this new situation would contribute to the formation of a new generation of playwrights. However, the situation is much different from expectations, and one of the conclusions of the article is that it is advisable for the playwright to be in a close collaborative relationship with all the decision-makers who contribute to the birth of a theatre performance, strongly anchored in social realities.
