Summary/Abstract: We continue our series dedicated to the activity of the county organization of the Romanian National Party in Arad, with the period 1920–1922. In conclusion, it can be stated that after the parliamentary elections of May‑June 1920, a series of Arad leaders, led by Vasile Goldiș, vice‑president of the P.N.R., marched on the idea of collaborating with the government led by General Alexandru Averescu and creating a so‑called „Transylvanian bloc” within the government, an idea with which the leadership of the P.N.R. did not agree. On the other hand, the group led by Ștefan Cicio‑Pop was manifesting for an approach to the National Liberal Party, for a common government, which was not achieved, because the question was who will be the „first violin”: Ion I.C. Brătianu or Iuliu Maniu. In general, the activity of the Arad organization was one of opposition, organizing large political rallies, especially in the autumn of 1921. The election campaign followed in early 1922, which was a fierce political battle between the liberals in power, and P.N.R. The Liberal government wanted at all costs to obtain an absolute parliamentary majority, given that it was declared Constituent. Following the P.N.L.’s election victory, a long period of opposition to the P.N.R. began, which would end only in 1928, when they would be brought to power by the Regency.
