Summary/Abstract: The activity of the Alba Chamber of Commerce and Industry during 1928–1934 focused on: capitalizing on the riches of the area (gold, silver, wine, wood, cattle, birds, fruits, sand, stone, salts, methane gas, etc.) that could bring prosperity and economic stability; establishing a more lively circulation of goods and values, because a good that does not move and is inactive has no value for society, and a modern economic life is determined only by the speed of their movement; a continuous intensification of economic and productive activity by removing any disruptive agent and in conditions of free competition, because only free competition establishes the perfect harmony between the three economic elements: labor, production, consumption; easing taxation and all burdens on economic, industrial and trade activity; the removal of usury by all means and the reduction of the interest rate in the lending activity, given that the development of economic life cannot be conceived without credit and the damage to the credit system, due in large part to usury practiced along the whole line, could only have consequences. disastrous for both the creditor and the debtor; restoration of bank capital by merging credit institutions; encouraging fair trade and protecting it, removing elements that compromise it.
