Summary/Abstract: The most translated romanian writer of the moment - Mircea Cartarescu - establishes an extremenly offering poetic language in the contemporary reading conscience, with large openings towards visions, allegories and reveries, built through a varying report between denotation and conotation. Based on a philological analysis of the translations from Hungarian, English, Spanish and Italian, we will try to observe the fluctuations of the postmodernist language through translations, taking into account both the collective imaginary and the intertextual discourse.
