Summary/Abstract: This paper studies the proskinitarion of Gavrilo Tadić, which was compiled in 1662. Proskinitarion was designed as a guide through the places of the Holy Land, with descriptions of the most important sights. The text is written in Serbo-Slavic redaction with elements of the vernacular. The paper traces the influence of folk forms through certain phonetic, morphological and lexical phenomena. Language is not studied in a synchronic plane, but a diachronic perspective is dominant. The etymological analysis of the lexical layer indicated significant oriental influences, but local linguistic features were also noted. Paleographic research was also carried out. The attached text of the proskinitarion is given according to the manuscript kept in the National and University Library in Jerusalem under the signature of Ms. Var. 186.
