Summary/Abstract: The article considers the right way to conceive of the human world’s plurality. In the firstpart, Lipszyc briefly recalls the categories developed by Hannah Arendt, Jean-Luc Nancy, and Adriana Cavarero to later focus on the psychoanalytic tradition, in which he seeksadditional conceptual support. While the works of Freud and his many successors donot offer such support, Lipszyc tries to show that an extremely engaging vision of theplurality of what is human emerges from Juliet Mitchell’s book on siblings. Lipszyc provesthat based on Mitchell’s concept, we may contrast Freudian brotherhood with the ideaof sibling democracy. Finally, the article meticulously studies the deformation of thisideal, which thusly – ex negativo – further reveals its anatomy. The author focuses hereon the analysis of Marlene Streeruwitz’s Partygirl and shows the protagonist’s universeas the opposite of the world of sibling democracy.
