ENTREPRENEURSHIP CONSIDERATIONS IN THE EU

Summary/Abstract: Within the contemporary economy, in the category of its distinct features, the fundamental role of entrepreneurship is noticed, perceived as a basic pillar of the economic growth. The paper addresses theoretical aspects regarding entrepreneurship, highlighting its importance for the economic development of a state. Particular attention is paid to the presentation of the Global Entrepreneurship Index, as well as to the description of the positions occupied by the European states in the last world ranking. At the same time, the main measures proposed by the EU institutions were presented to improve the position of the Member States, but also of the EU as a whole, within these international rankings
