Summary/Abstract: Succession unworthiness is a legal institution with a long tradition, drawing its origins in Roman law. Beyond the way it has been regulated over time and the cases that have attracted this civil sanction, the foundation of the institution lies in the idea that it would be unfair and immoral for a person to be fit to inherit the deceased against whom he proved unworthy. Although it is unanimously accepted that no one can open their way to an inheritance through murder, the intervention of the indignity of law in the case of committing the crime of homicide at victim’s request seems to find no justification.
