Summary/Abstract: The author focused on the reflection on and the analysis of Polish disability studies in the local context and in humanities, especially of their situation and place in Polish Studies. Beginning with the first attempts of scientifical reflection on disability from other than medical point of view in the inter-war period. The author notices a lack of continuity of this research perspective in Poland, which was caused mostly by political and economic factors. Then, Author analyzes the existing since the 1990s trends in disability research in Polish Studies emphasizing some specific traits, which are present in the Polish version of disability studies.
