Model of Interest - Free Financing of Agriculture in Islamic Banking

Summary/Abstract: All the financial models that contain interest are strictly forbidden for Muslims. Because of that, in the 1970s the models of financing without interest, were developed as an alternative to models with interest. Models of financing without interest have developed over time and were promoted through the operation of interest-free banks and other interest-free financial institutions. Some of them, according to their specific characteristics, are suitable for specific economic activities. In line with this, Selem a model of buying and selling in non-interest banking is identified as a suitable model for non-interest financing of agricultural activities in the conventional economies as well. In this model, the bank realized a good purchase with prompt payment and deferred delivery. After bank gets bought well and becomes its owner, also sold it on the market. The difference between the buying and selling price is earnings for bank.
