Summary/Abstract: Józef Białynia Chołodecki is an important figure in borderland regionalism. His views and actions are also a part of the contemporary understanding of regionalism. He cherished the memory of individuals who fought for independence and emphasisedall forms of service to homeland. He was an expert in local history and lover of Lvov. Hisachievements are worth analysing in the context of turn-of-the-century borderland regionalism as an example of commitment and service to the local community.
