Multilateral Convention – when will it start producing effects in Romania?

Summary/Abstract: The Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (the „MLI”) has finally been ratified by Romania. Furthermore, the MLI provisions have entered into force, a situation which has generated confusion in terms of the date when the MLI will produce effects. In order for the MLI to produce effects, it is necessary for Romania to submit to the OECD the last of the notifications made concerning the fulfillment of internal procedures, but up to now it is unclear when this will happen.
