Summary/Abstract: Stefan Badea hits the issue of the alternative student books, which as part of the Ministry of Education's program were meant to bring the Romanian education system to European standards. The first step forward was made when a decision to use alternative books as far as the gymnasium classes was adopted. Then everything stopped with the new Minister's decision to reduce the number of choices for alternative books for high school students to 3 for each topic. This is a step backwards and as the author emphasizes fruitless for the educational system in Romania.
