Summary/Abstract: Communication between heaven and Еarth as an experience on a spiritual plane can be brought about by some physical means, such as a rainbow, a bridge, stairs, a ladder, a vine, a cord, “a chain of arrows”, a mountain, etc. These symbolic images of the connection between heaven and Еarth are merely variants of the Cosmic Tree and imply the idea of a “Centre of the World”, a point where Еarth, sky, and underworld meet.
