Summary/Abstract: Recently, two new formulae for the area of an arbitrary quadrilateral were found (see [1], [2]). They -are applied in the present paper to solve geometric problems with different difficulty and character including problems to determine the areas of different types of pentagons and hexagons, also problems to find extreme values of various segment lengths in a triangle and quadrilateral, as well as problems to prove that four points are concyclic. Triangulation systems in a quadrilateral are used in the corresponding solutions.
