New Opportunities for SMEs Founded by Cooperation

Summary/Abstract: The increasing importance of small and medium sized enterprises can be observed, and is also acknowledged by many studies dealing with the sector2. Small and medium sized enterprises play an important role in employment, they give a considerable part of the GDP, and besides these they have an outstanding importance in the field of innovation. The economic processes of globalisation and the advances in technology have changed the environment of the companies. Cooperation among firms can be an answer to the changing economic environment and to strengthening competition. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the new opportunities for small and medium sized enterprises founded by cooperation.
