Summary/Abstract: Literary activities in the Ottoman Empire period are discussed under the title of "Classical Turkish Literature". Social life studies in the field of Classical Turkish Literature are sources that contain all kinds of features of the period and contain original material related to our cultural life. These studies; Proverbs and idioms in the language spoken by the people cover a wide spectrum such as eating and drinking culture, clothing, customs and traditions, games and entertainment, daily life and social structure. Sehî Bey, known for his tezkire called Heşt Behişt, is one of the important names of the 16th century. Sehi Bey has a Divan other than his Tezkire. Based on Sehî Bey's Divan, the study includes determinations about the game and entertainment culture, which is a part of the 16th century Ottoman social life. The data revealed by the examination of the Divan is divided into three headings. The couplets, which are handled separately under each heading, are translated into today's Turkish and explained. Çomag, swing, chess and backgammon, which are traditional game and entertainment tools loved by both adults and children among the public, were handled in a group. In the second group, sports activities such as horse races, hunting, çevgan, wrestling and archery were examined. The couplets about âteş-bâz, cân-bâz, lu'betbâz, dancer and tig-bâz, who displayed their skills in the entertainments and weddings organized at that time, are presented under the title of spectator games. The resulting data is remarkable in that it sheds light on a part of the social life of the 16th century Ottoman Empire.
