Summary/Abstract: The formation of the sociology of war as a sectoral sociology or middle-level theory in Ukraine has been investigated. The object, subject, conceptual apparatus, proposed methodology of further studies of the sociology of war, are proposed, proposed to consider its main directions and key problems. A comparative analysis of objects and items of military sociology, sociology of the army was conducted. The characteristics of modern wars and the peculiarities of their armed struggle were given.
