Summary/Abstract: The Republic of Moldova is one of the former Soviet territories where the communist governing system left the most horrible marks owing to the large number of victims of deportations, hunger, imprisonment, assassinations, etc. There is no complete image of the anti-Soviet and anti-communist resistance in post-war Bessarabia, as it is a known fact that various forms of resistance against the Soviet occupation never really ceased to manifest. This study analyzes the case of the mothers and wives of fighters in the “Black Army,” an anti-Soviet fighting group, active on the territories of regions Chiscareni, Cornești, Bravicea, and Călărași.
