Summary/Abstract: Gheorghe Vasilichi was one of the leaders of the 1933 strikers in Prahova County. His testimony of the factional sruggles within the Romanian Communist Party between 1928-1930 sheds new light on the political environment of the age and the rivalry among different communist groups, a weak point that undermined the Communist Party’s actions. Besides the colourful presentation and the novelty of the information, Vasilichi’s memoirs represent a historical document telling the story of the early days of the Romanian Communist Party and its Comintern line, as well as the beginning of the communist ascent to power in Romania.
