Summary/Abstract: Analyzing the 1941 documents (referring to the period of the National Legionary State and to the Legionary Movement’s initiatives for approaching the communists) and those of 1942 (showing the communists’ efforts to create a “common front” which should include the Legionaries) reveals that, at some point in their history, when they felt ready to build a political alliance against the Antonescu regime, the two extreme movements were interested in active collaboration.
