Managing the Crisis Caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic during Its First Wave in Selected European Countries

Summary/Abstract: The article aims to examine the methods of managing the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic during its first wave in selected European countries and to answer the question: What impact did the public administration system have on the approach to crisis management (centralisation versus decentralisation)? The analysis shows that crisis management strategies largely depended on the institutional features and administrative cultures of a given country, inherited and rooted in the past.
