Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of academicians' motivation and dimensions, namely internal and external motivations, on emotional labor sub dimensions which as expression of natural felt emotions, deep acting and surface acting. The sample of the research consists of academicians with various titles working at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. The research data were gathered through an online questionnaire and the sample size was determined as 152. In the model of the research, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation were considered as independent variables, emotional labor and its sub dimensions as dependent variables. Simple linear regression analysis was used to test the model developed in the research and the hypotheses based on this model. As a result of the analysis of the data, it was observed that motivation had a significant and positive effect on natural emotions and a significant and negative effect on surface acting. However, it was determined that intrinsic and extrinsic motivation had a significant and positive effect on natural emotions. In addition, it has been determined that intrinsic motivation has a significant and negative effect on surface acting.
