Summary/Abstract: The PNL activity after 1944 was negatively influenced by the establishment of the Groza government and, following the 1946 elections, it was shadowed and never recovered. In May 1950 its main leaders, Dinu, Bebe and Gheorghe Brătianu, were arrested and they later died in the communist prisons.
